We offer solutions for New Construction projects to prevent future issues with water intruding on your new basement or crawl space floor.
While it is true that today's construction companies try to waterproof basements and crawl spaces during construction, their methods haven't changed much over time. Most companies still apply a "damp proof" membrane on the exterior foundation wall. This is to prevent moisture from wicking through the cement foundation wall. Companies will also install a footing drain on the exterior to try to give any ground water an alternate path away from the house. The problem with these methods is that they are exterior and left in the elements their whole life. Degrading and eventually failing.
Maine Basement Waterproofing believes in another method of prevention. We install an interior system to capture and divert water out of your basement or crawl space and out of your home. Our system is installed after the footing and walls, before the floor is poured. Once our system is in place, the floor is poured and the rest of the project goes on as normal.
We can help you with additions with a crawl space or basement below. Installation is fast and cost much less than installing a waterproofing system AFTER the floor is poured. Prevention is the best way to avoid any inconvenient flooding events in your new home or addition.
